Dental Implants in Pikesville, MD

Dental implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. The person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything and can smile with confidence, knowing that teeth appear natural and that facial contours will be preserved.

The implants are tiny titanium posts which are placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. Dental implants can also help preserve facial structure, preventing the bone deterioration which occurs when teeth are missing.

Because our Pikesville practice plans and places tooth replacement in house, your evaluation, restoration, and follow-up care stay with the team that knows your history. Complex cases are addressed by our doctors or an oral and maxillofacial surgeon we refer to and coordinate with closely.

Why patients choose them

The benefits of dental implants

Eat virtually anything

A person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything and can smile with confidence.

Looks and feels natural

Replacement teeth on implants appear natural, and facial contours are preserved rather than allowed to sink.

Preserves the jawbone

Implants help preserve facial structure, preventing the bone deterioration that occurs when teeth are missing.

A stable, lasting anchor

The jawbone bonds with the titanium to create a strong, durable foundation for artificial teeth.

What to expect

The dental implants process

  1. 01

    Evaluation

We complete a dental and radiographic examination and health history to confirm implants are right for you and plan your case.

  2. 02

    Implant placement

The titanium implants are surgically placed within the jawbone. You can usually wear temporary dentures and eat a soft diet while they heal.

  3. 03

    Bonding period

Over the next three to six months the implants gradually bond with the jawbone beneath the gums.

  4. 04

    New teeth

The implants are uncovered, a healing collar is attached, impressions are taken, and your replacement teeth are made over the posts, usually six to eight months in total.
